Calculating Transfer GPA
Your Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated by dividing the total grade points by total units. To calculate a transfer GPA, you may first identify transferrable courses and calculate the GPA by using the credits for the transfer units only. You may use www.assist.org or articulation agreements with universities to identify the transferrable courses.
Here is the formula to calculate GPA:
- Total transfer Units
- Total transfer Grade points
- Divide total transfer grade points by total transfer units
(Transferrable Total Points ÷ Total Transferrable Units = Transfer GPA)
Notes:
- The units of those courses that are completed with a grade of "Credit"/ "No Credit" (CR/NCR), or "Pass/No Pass" (P/NP) will not calculate in GPA.
- If a course is repeated, the first passing grade will be included in GPA and the substandard grades of "D or F" will be excluded.
