Overview
Welcome to the Education & Human Development (EHD) Department at Cañada College. We support students interested in working with children and families in their communities. Whether exploring careers in education, social work, and/or community organizations EHD can help you achieve your goals.
Education Pathways: Students may choose from the following programs:
Early Childhood Education (ECE) - Earn certificates and/or degrees to become eligible for the Child Development Permit
issued by the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Youth and After School (YAS) - Complete coursework to gain foundational skills to work in after-school programs
and in diverse learning settings.
Elementary Teacher Education - Pursue a teaching career in the elementary grades. The Associates of Arts Degree
to Transfer provides priority transfer to California State Universities.
Social Work & Human Services Pathways: Students interested in social work and related professions may complete the Social Work & Human Services Associate in Arts Degree to Transfer.
