Cañada College encourages and supports faculty, staff and administrators as they seek funding for grants and research projects. Often the grants and research proposals involves the use of human subjects for data collection and analysis. It is the policy of the College to comply with all applicable Federal Regulations regarding the use of human subjects in grant and research projects; respect the rights, well-being and personnel privacy of individuals; assure a favorable climate for the conduct of academic-oriented inquiry; and protect the interests of the students and staff of Cañada College.
The Office of Planning, Research and Institutional Effectiveness (PRIE) reviews all research that involves human subjects to ensure that the rights and welfare in research studies. Research studies conducted at Cañada are protected from risks and should be considered minimized. Cañada also ensures the potential for benefit has been identified and maximized. In addition, any research is conducted in an ethical manner and in compliance with established standards.
